  3. Integrity and honesty compromised to make a sale

In February this year, I purchased a Mercedes C300 from Mercedes Nelspruit and was assisted by sales person Mr George Beyleveld. The car is a 2017 C300 and was a demo model with 8000kms. During the acquisition I questioned George around the value of the vehicle given the insurance company quoting me a much lower retail value at the time. I was led to believe that the extras are taken into consideration and that’s how he had come to a sale price of R658000 and when I trade the car in this will be taken into account.

To my surprise when I enquire around the trade value from George in November, a mere 9 months later, I was given a trade value of R480 000 and a retail value of R538 000. This is highly disturbing as what Mercedes is telling me through George is that my vehicle has depreciated by R120 000 in just 9 months.

As a avid Mercedes owner and this being my 8th Mercedes, I am left highly disturbed by Mercedes and the integrity of staff employed by Mercedes in order to make a sale to the detriment of loyal customers of the brand.

I request that this be looked into and feedback provided.

  4. Complaint

    Good day,

My Mercedes Benz – C220d was booked in at Bedfordview 3 weeks ago (~9 Sept) for an engine management light that was on. The first 2 – 3 days the nominated service advisor was not aware that my car was there, which means nothing was done to the car. Thereafter there was a series of reasons, such as: part ordered, no power, changed battery. At one point (17 Sept), was told by the service advisor that the car is ready and the drive came to pick me up. Whilst driving to the dealership, the same service advisor called the driver and told him to turn back and take me home. When testing the car, it didn’t have power. Today is 23 Sept and there is no information why the car is still there. I have another Mercedes Benz that is due for service, however I am very reluctant and lack confidence if they are competent enough to service the car.

I feel that nothing has been done to the car and that is way was picked up and the later turn back home. It was a ploy to keep me calm. Also they are worried about their daily income target and fixing my car is a hinderance.
