The company merged with Stanley Works and hence it became as Stanley Black & Decker and remains the wholly owned subsidiary of Black & Decker.

Its products in the USA are marketed by spectrum brands and this spectrum brands purchased the hardware, home improvement division in the year 2012.

The brands of the company include Dewalt, Porter Cable, Delta Machinery, Baldwin, Weiser Lock etc.

The company also introduced the most familiar electric drill in the year 1917 and obtained the patent rights for hand held drill combined with the pistol grip and trigger switch.
